Brass rim locks
The upper rim lock is especially suitable for bathrooms. There is no key, but the lock can be worked from the inside of the door by the small snib. The distance from the door edge to the spindle is about 90mm which will allow you to use a round door knob; in the bottom lock the distance is almost 120mm, placing the round door knob well clear of the door frame. The bottom lock can be used on any door. If used on an internal door such as a sitting room, the key and lock need not be used if you are worried about children locking themselves in. If used on an exterior door such as a front door, the lock will not satisfy insurance companies, so be prepared to use an additional lock.
